Is there an extreme heat grease for corrosion protection?

    I everyone,

I have a 2022 Taco and live in humid Florida with no garage like a block from the ocean. After my battles with rust from my previous truck, I have learned a lot about keeping my cars/trucks from rusting. However, there is an item or two I don't know how to protect.

While the paint is protected with professional ceramic coats and then lots of "recharges" when I wash, and I spray the bottom of the truck thoroughly with lanolin grease (Woolwax is the thickest and stays on), I don't know how to keep the stock exhaust system from rusting.

While I heard there are header-paints that can be used, I would prefer to use an extreme heat-proof grease. After years of experience in such a rust-happy environment, I can tell that thick layers of grease are far better at preventing rust than a thin layer of paint. The humidity/water in the air just cannot penetrate it all it seems as long as I keep enough grease on the bottom of my truck.

I would think there must be an industrial grade heat proof grease maybe that can be on the exhaust system or am I dreaming? I also noticed that because I have the cast iron block 2TR-FE engine, the "freeze plugs" which really are just holes for when they casted the iron block are totally exposed with no paint. How can I lock those away from rusting more than they already started to in just 2 years? It would be difficult to paint those which is another reason I would prefer grease that is heatproof if it exists? I can easily reach it with grease, not paint.

    thank you,
    Rick

LOL, and thanks for the technical reading there, that is interesting. I did see online there is an industrial grease for extreme heat called DSF 5000. It can take temps up to 1500 degrees but is extremely expensive as far as greases go. It's like 200 dollars for a small cartridge or two of it. So that' is probably not smart of me. Perhaps I will have to buy ceramic infused header paint after all.

Or.... I could just let the stock exhaust system be and then switch to stainless steel set up. But....here's what I'm worried about on that. I don't have the common V6 Tacoma that they probably make a lot of aftermarket stainless exhaust clamps and pipes for. I have the less common 2.7L cast iron block 4 banger. My instinct is no one makes a stainless steel exhaust kit for that. So I should keep my stock one from rusting if i can.

Its a tacoma, of course people make an exhaust for it. Even the 2.7s have lots of aftermarket stainless options. Just get an aftermarket stainless exhaust when your stock exhaust starts to corrode.

Okay thanks, even on the exhaust? The frame, paint, stuff like that is easy. I will search better and see if there is any posts about keeping the super hot exhaust parts from rusting. Even BBQ grill paint flakes off the exhaust in most places so I'll keep searching. My understanding is that only "header paint" or industrial grade extreme heat grease will work. I doubt there are many articles on that here but I'll look.
