4th gen - aftermarket wheel and tire pics

Those are beautiful wheels, but will poke quite a bit on the new generation. Unless you get a Pro or TH which has the wider fender flares as shown in the pictures above, they might not work too bad.

 

I can sell them for $900 in about 2 seconds. Instead of trying to retrofit them, I will wait for the aftermarket to make wheels that have the proper size center bore, lugs, offset, etc.

The OEM wheels are pretty decent for 2024. There’s no need to rush and replace them other than to be different.

Any up close photos of the wheel face on this TrailHunter fitment? Interested to see the amount of clearance from the caliper and the wheel barrel

 

I don't but the brake size looks very similar to the GEN3 as far as x factor. The rotor might be a little larger though. You thinking 16's

 

Sure am, seen a few photos with 17's on non PRO & TH and there looks to be enough clearance. Will just need to test and see. Thanks for the info

Man I would love it if 16s fit. I guess I just assumed that with the bigger brakes that 16s were out of the question.

He says his Icon control arms pushes the wheel forward. And so he has front fender clearance problems even with +25 offset. The benefit is you get to keep that bracket in the rear. Correct me if I am wrong, but I would rather keep the stock control arms and remove that "safety" bracket and voila! Get those 35s in there. Like all the other tubers are doing.

Do you void the warranty if you trim the front bumper or do you void the warranty if you remove that bracket? Seems like you do either way. And I think Toyota wouldn't honor anything if you have all his stuff on there anyway.

 

welp, @Visa_Declined your truck looked real nice and I am planning some other things anyway so my wife and I can take the truck out every now and again. My 2024 in Ice cap. Will grab some other photos in better light but new tires! 285/70r17 as well.

 

Hmm they don’t recommend 35’s, but Mark Brenner just released a video of him picking up his truck from Wescott, and it was fitted with 35’s on a wheel with +25 offset. No rubbing issues. He’s on a Wescott 2.5”/0.75” lift I believe.

 

Icon guy is posing an unnecessary dilemma. He posits that Toyota put the rear bracket there for safety reasons and we shouldn't remove it. Therefore, his control arms shift the wheel forward to avoid the rubbing on said rear bracket. Which of course introduces the forward rub.

Others think that if it really was for safety, we wouldn't be able to remove it. It might just be to mount mud flaps. Sheldon, the engineer kinda, sorta alluded to that in Hawaii.

I bet using the stock wheels without trying to get “poke” goes a long way in fitting larger tires without rubbing.

 

Yeah. Sheldon and crew watched all of us trying to stuff those tires into the 3G. They make it easier to do so on the broke gen. Then we want all this poke. Probably, what is going through their heads right now is WTF?
