if you find a shop that has labor rates under $100/hr either they are doing shoddy work or they’ll be closing up shop real soon.

good work isn’t cheap. Cheap work isn’t good.

They are like $240 an hour. Charged me $300 bucks to test engine compression on a 4Runner. Test took like 20 minutes. To be honest with you with the symptoms of mis firing they kinda knew it was a head gasket issue. I should have said no them saying they wanted to test the compression. Lesson learned.

we pretty much only use Lextech for our Toyotas. They’ve been beyond fair and they do good work. Never a complaint.

They wouldn't do a valve adjustment on my 1st gen... tons of shops refused to do it was pretty surprising.

are you sure they didn't pressure test the cooling system?
did they not provide a quote prior to you giving the green light to have the work performed?

    Exactly, its the quality triangle:
    1. Good
    2. Fast
    3. Cheap
You can only pick 2 options. If you want Good and Fast, it wont be cheap. If you want Fast and Cheap, it wont be Good. If you want Good and Cheap, it wont be Fast...

I'm officially over the cold weather! It's normally only cold cold in January and February. But it's been cold cold since November! Can't tell you how many times in the past, I've been outside in December in shorts and a tshirt. Not this season. :annoyed:

And yes, I will also complain about how hot and humid it is come summertime.

Well, the poles are shifting faster and faster with each passing year so get used to the changes. Technically, we're still on the tail end of the last ice age. It sure feels like it sometime. There are some schools of thought that think that here in North America used to be the north pole which would have put Antarctica somewhere in line with current day Australia with a tropic, coniferous, or deciduous forests. But that was many moons ago, probably before the moon was in the sky.

Is shifting poles and ice age cycles still a tinfoil hat thing?! Guess I’ll start rewatching ancient aliens again to keep it going!

Haha, no. That was for the Moon thing. It doesn't behave like other moons. I started down the Why Files rabbit hole and it's easier to explain the moons nonexistence than its existence. Crater depth, ancient texts, seismic activity, and solar eclipses to name a few. Some people think its hollow because it rings like a bell, an ancient space craft sent to observe or seed this planet with life. Some of the theories are pretty wild.
