Bench seat?

So this might be dumb but I drive a 2007 4 door Tacoma. I have rebuilt almost everything on this truck myself. Currently it bucket seats in the front I would like to change it to a bench seat but I’m not quite sure how to do this. I’ve done a little research and have come up short and would love some opinions. Any tips or ideas are welcome.

 

How are your fabrication skills?

About the only way I know is measure to see what length seat will fit wonder around yards till you find something that might work. Make some brackets. Finding a seat in decent shape might be difficult.

I am sure a custom bench seat could be made might be a tad expensive.

 

My fabrication skills are ok. I will try to if I can find one I’m more worried about the middle consul. Thank you for the input

You want to keep the console??

Once it is removed it should not be a problem.

The height from the top of the bench seat to the roof of the cab also needs to considered.

 

I don’t want to keep the console. My hopes were too try and find a 2nd gen bench seat Tacoma in a scrap yard somewhere and just rip the seat and console out then build it into my truck I’m just sure if there’s a better way to go about it or if there’s something that I’m not considering that’s why I posted it. I figured that maybe another person has tried this before and may have some tips.

 

I have never seen a bench seat Tacoma .

Did they come in the 5 lug version I have never seen one of those.

 

The Tacoma 1st gen and 2nd gen single cab (I have a 2nd gen double cab) are made as a bench seat manual then some are picked out and turned into bucket seats some get different engines etc. which Is why if you have a first or second gen go under it and look at body from underneath you should see like foam paste stuf under your truck that is where the original truck was cut out for the different things it would have (like different seats) or really anything custom added etc. so yes there are bench seats they just can be harder to find google it or go on Facebook their all over
