Add a new closet to the house and paint your name on the door. It is not like you will arrive home after work one day and the door is painted pink, the name has been changed and she has moved in! :notsure:

 I like excuses to spend money - especially if that discount can go toward a new safe in a few months.

I swear 750-1000sqft of the new house is closet space. I've never had so much room for clothing in my life. :anonymous:

I look forward to abusing our relationship for sex. Because 50% off and sex are basically the same thing.

I'll have to check, apparently our warehouse bought the wrong size racking for what they wanted. My guess is they've already sold it but you never know, it might be gathering dust while someone avoids taking the shame of having boinked that particular pooch.

Swapping over to CBI this weekend, I think the RCI has held up pretty damn awesome, and I can legitimately have non mall crawler credentials lol. I'm still kind of a wuss when I look at some obstacles though. :D

What are you gonna do with the RCI I might have a buyer for you if you want to sell?

    Funny you should ask!

It's going right back on the 'runner because this CBI skid is a clownshow. I'm going to lose my ass selling it at a huge loss since I bought it on 4th of July sale and the return window is looooong gone.

Like OK I know I'm autistic and OCD but this is NOT enough thread engagement for a nut, at all, no way.
    20240302_162204.jpg

And the other side gets absurdly close to the driveshaft flange:
    20240302_161556.jpg

And then to top it all off there's just nowhere to get a wrench in to this area:
    20240302_161654.jpg

The worst part is it doesn't even tuck any higher than the RCI does. Feels like $1400 just out the window and I'm better served refreshing that RCI with new hardware and maybe making a few choice modifications.

If it makes you feel any better, those first two pics wouldn’t have even been a second thought to me. Looks like plenty of thread engagement in the first pic and you could even put loctite/a second nut as a jam nut for peace of mind.

Edit: oh is that a square washer? I agree then, needs more thread. I thought that was a threaded square for some reason. If you put a nut on and tighten it up, does it suck the skid up and grab more thread?

For proximity to that front driveshaft, that driveshaft won’t be moving at all, certainly not that 1/2”-3/4” gap that’s there. Your truck would feel like it’s falling apart if it was moving remotely that much.

Third pic, idk, gotta be creative I guess.

If you kept on rocking the RCI, no harm in that, but if you wanted to feel justified in your purchase and try the cbi out, I wouldn’t sweat it at all.

ok another edit: is the lack of thread engagement one where the ifs and trans skid mate together? Looks like the two skids are bolted together as well as bolted to the crossmember?

Yeah you need the width of the bolt for the bolt to provide an 8.8 rating but I can't imagine it's seeing the forces required for a proper 8.8
