I think with Tigerton it's not so much the "Trail" itself but what you find off the trail that makes it fun. The trail just takes you to the fun stuff.
The campfire shanganigans are fun too.
    Good food and great people.

For some reason I thought that you had a done this already.

So my daughter went bear hunting yesterday...

I was hoping she would get me a bear skin rug for my birthday.

Turns out all she wanted to do was hug the damned things.

    Raise your children right!

I've been shopping around for a camping stove and was excited at first for these. Then he got to the aluminum coated part :jerkoff:

Guess I'm sticking to my first choice of a Coleman stove with cast iron attachments.

Anyone else should keep an eye out for the steel version when it comes out. The side burner is a good idea but seems poorly executed for any group bigger than 4, so full griddle version all the way when you do buy it.

This tool actually was the key. The humble pickle fork got that sticky POS out. I also took off the skid plate-I didn't want to because its a PIA. I fought the ECGS tool for most of an hour and could NOT get it behind the needle bearing. Finally found a video I hadn't seen and the guy noted that if you had an old tool the plate needed to be relieved slightly on a grinder. A couple minutes at the bench grinder and that damn thing went right in! Ha! Bought this tool last summer, but it does make a difference to bevel the back just a bit. Now I have the big calipers and rotors done, ECGS bushing done and new hoses and hard lines up front. Got my deposit back on the calipers too. Anyone want some 100k Hubs? Feels wrong just throwing them out.

It’s all good buddy, not criticizing just trying to save your browser history. Don’t Google for BBC, by the way.

On a more relevant note for the group.
I've often wondered about the why people suggest backing off a bow shackle bolt when using them for a recovery.
Every rigging guy or gal I have worked with always habitually tightens them even when it's a simple lift that is no where near the ratings of the equipment.
In fact pretty much every one of them carries a short rod that fits the bolt. I keep a crescent wrench (AKA nut lathe) in the truck for that and anything else it may help with.

that was actually talked about in bobs recent newsletter
    https://img1.wsimg.com/blobby/go/ff..._February_Newsletter _2.pdf?ver=1708135301848

They actually did destructive testing with them tightened to various amounts to see how much difference it made. kinda interesting.

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of information I have been looking for.
I figured that backing off the bolt didn't dramatically reduce the working strength since people seem to have plenty of successful recovery's backing off the bolt.
That said I will personally tighten my shackles just like I do at work with crane lifts.
