My driver gets between 11 and 12 on a good day even before the tune

My Pop-n-Lock started failing yesterday. The little actuator hits the lock mechanism, but doesn't hit it hard enough to actually make it lock/unlock. Not sure if it's the actuator itself that's gotten weaker or the lock itself is getting stuck. The key still works, and I reapplied some grease to the mechanism, no luck.

Any other tips welcome...

 

Just swap out the actuator. I bought a 2 pack from Amazon and swapped mine and now have a spare.
All good now.

 

Wonder if a Toyota actuator would be better?

 

Yeah it seems these deals never come at a good time for my budget either! Sometimes though it’s too good to pass up!

I thought about this... dumb question, but does the OEM actuator work with the Pop-n-Lock wiring?

 

Just installed a set of Cali Off-road catalytic converter shields and a set of Red Line hood struts. Really impressed with both!

 

Yea! I ordered a replacement one from Pop-n-Lock since I didn't know if the wiring for the Pop-n-Lock would work with any other actuator, including the OEM one. Should probably done more research before ordering.

Derped the TRD OR grill.


Installed a Diode Dynamics SS30 light bar with CaliRaised hidden light bar brackets. Trimmed air dams to retain 3/4 of the OEM-ness and functionality. Snagged the SS30 on Facebook Marketplace and the guy also had some Diode Dynamics ditch light brackets he threw in for $25. So I ordered some ~$40 ditch lights from Amazon.

The beam and intensity looked really good while testing prior to install, but my harness hasn't arrived yet, so I'll get some testing/photos once that's completed.

Honorable mention: Installed Diode Dynamics SS6 light bars to factory hole mounts (with Diode Dynamics U-bracket) a couple weeks ago. They're pointed slightly outward to complement the light bar with a wider spread. Once dialed I'm looking to a) try a flood or fog lense or b) remove them entirely based on needs.


Bonus: The 6" bars in conjunction with the 30" give me Iron Man/flat-mouthed emoji vibes.


In my heavily biased opinion it passes the aesthetics test...we'll see about the test of time.
