When I was leaving for work this morning my driver side rear wheel was locked up. I was gone for the weekend and left the e-brake on, I drive an '08 6-speed manual. I've had the e-brake freeze on me before, usually it I just lets go after driving a couple feet, but not today. The wheel was so locked it was just dragging down the road.

I jacked up it, took the wheel off, and gave the drum a couple of good hits with a dead blow. I was able to spin the drum with a pry rod in BOTH directions with both rears off the ground. I didn't look at what the other wheel was doing when I spun the driver side.

Thought I was good, but the wheel was still locked up when driving forward. However, the wheel did move freely in reverse. So it's not the brake since it can move in reverse. I put new brake shoes, hardware and cylinders on last year.

Any ideas? Could this be wheel bearings? I've been meaning to do new ones anyways, I am just hoping my axle is not shot.

I would jack the truck up, and try spinning the passenger side wheel.
Almost sounds like an internal differential issue.
