Ive been changing my and my kids and wifes oil for 20+ years i did some dumb ish after gettimg frustrated sat. Doing my first on 3rd gen tacoma, and my wifes 23 camry. No stores had the Redline 75w-85 so i ordered that , and purchased the valvoline 90w for tranfer case. Just realized i changed the front diff with valvoline 90 weight and only used 1.1 liters or quarts whatever jt was . I drove truck to work today , Am I going to damage the truck, Driving at low on front diff fluid being in 2 wheel? Should i add more 90 weight until redline comes then redo tramfer case ? Thanks everyone

Differentials don't care so much about oil weight. I would still change it out at some point

How far was the drive? It'll probably be fine if it didn't get really hot.

OP- Add the remaining diff oil when you get home. The front diff wont eat itself unless you’re in 4WD and low on oil. Remember: differentials are “full” when they weep from the fill hole(top access bolt), so add until it starts to come out the fill.

90W will work in the tcase but definitely not the ideal or recommended option. Toyota recommends 75W transfer oil and we have found good substitutes to be the Redline MT-LV (my choice) or the Ravenol stuff. Search and you will find this sufficiently beat to absolute death.

Being low is worse than the wrong oil. Fill it up asap, want the oil to get to the bearings
