Can tires cause problems?

    I have an 07 Tacoma. I have noticed lately that the front of the truck shifts back and forth as if I am driving over a bridge grate span. I have inspected all of the steering components, bushings, bearings and such. Everything seems ok. I have had the tires rebalanced but the shifting still occurs. I am talking highway speeds here. The truck tracks straight but the shifting is a problem. I have had a few people say the tires are the cause. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Tramlining is a term used that describes the sensation you are feeling. Here is an article from Tire Rack that explains it. So, yes tires can be the culprit.
