I was selling a 6 gallon shop vac. The pics I had in the listing showed 6 gallon shop vac, model #, all the good info! The guy shows up and immediately said “I thought it was bigger than that!” Nope, 6 gallon, like the listing said!

 

Took drafting and wood shop in middle school,Still have auto shop and ag at our high school for now. I took medical classes all 4 years and came out with a CNA license, but it did get me a full ride to community college for my firefighter and emt. Went on to get my medic and some reason went back to be. A RN. .. my daughters boyfriend is interested in the trade of firefighter so we been getting him in the right direction.
I will say our community is backing the trades and just spent a large amount on a new trade school which will have quite a bit

Selling things story:

Back when the internet was young and I was using Windows 3.1 & Netscape Navigator, I advertised a car on an enthusiast site. As usual my posting was very clear stating the car had been off the road for years, had severe structural rust and needed to be trailered.

So this fellow contacted me -- from Forrest City, NC -- over 600 miles away!

Assumed that if he intends to travel so far he must understand what he is doing, right?



So two young nit-wits show up 8+ hours late with (drum roll here) -- a Ford Ranger...
Like this but red, not shiny and with a blown muffler.



So I say "where's your hauler?"
The lead nit-wit says "we'll haul it with the Ranger, It's a V6!" (2.9L)

R: Where's your trailer?
LNW: We figured we would rent a tow dolly.
R: You can't dolly this car 5 miles, I told you that several times.
LNW: We can rent a drive on then.
R: Great idea!

I showed them to the phone & yellow pages figuring the long distance charges were worth the entertainment. Long distance calls were a thing back then BTW.

Then I got to hear him exasperatingly tell 3 different rental outfits "but it's a V6, we do it all the time back home".

At this point I told them they had 15 minutes to organize a truck or get the out.

They mumbled between themselves about trucks owned by "Uncle Earl, Bubba, Uncle Red, Bo & Luke, Cooter, etc." and then told me they would be back soon and rumbled off into the late afternoon sun never to return.

If they hadn't wasted a day of my life it would be funnier.

 

I sold a 67 Impala yrs ago radiator, brakes, tires, control arm shot and needed a windshield. I listed it for engine only. 327 2bbl 50000 on rebuild. The guy came to get it and started to complain that it wasn't out of the car. Then he asked if it started. Yep, and you could drive it away but with the understanding the brakes were grinding and it can be transferred to the next car. It had heavy rust. I didn't have the money at the time to put into it.

 

Oh man!!!! I forgot about Netscape!!!

The shop at the house has two yard hydrants, on the back of the shop. It's more level in the front and less mud. If I want to pressure wash something and it's raining, it's even more of a mess. I got to thinking the other day and the bathroom is on the front corner of the shop and yada yada I swung by the hardware store yesterday and got a pex ready faucet. I got to cut the water off and put in a T and elbow and there's that.

 

They make your packages show up no matter what in southern Virginia. Good thing it wasn't raining yesterday or they would have been moist.

 

that's funny our postal carrier has a Subaru wagon he bought from Japan with the steering wheel on the right side. It came with fog lights and roof racks and a bull bar too.
We past him 1 time and he only had room for him to sit in the driver's seat . It was comical.
