Oh, please. Nobody is going to miss that fake Atkinson atrocity.

    :crapstorm:

Edit: just referring to the engine. I think the 3rd gens are fantastic otherwise.

3rd gen’s are great except the power train, which is kind of a big part lol

so far it sounds like the 4th gen has been a big improvement.

    Sweet FTW.

    4th gen Taco.

but, I did really like my 4th gen 4Runner, in spite of the general dislike for them.

I liked the motor enough that I'm seriously considering trading the Ass-wagon for one. Or, waiting until the 6th gen 4Runner to be announced and then make a decision.

    Sweet it is, then. ;)

Just do it the @LarryDangerfield way and get the 4th gen taco and then trade it for the 6th gen t4r

I've never owned a 'brand new' vehicle.
They've always been 2 years old with one previous owner, 86k(1st gen) and 30k(3rd) miles.

    Both treated me very well.

    Common denominator.
Let the 1st owner work the bugs out.

I use a different strategy now - don’t buy year one of a new model

or in the case of my tundra, buy the almost last year of a model.
