All of the installation videos I have found are wrong for my Taco. I have the OEM KIT#00016-34355. All of the videos show the wiring harness on the passenger side whereas mine is on the driver’s side. The Molex connector and wiring diagrams differ as well.

does anyone have a link or advice as to where the T-splices need to go. Techstream shows door lock red and unlock yellow. Still doesn’t work!

Direct from the parts department at the dealership. I’m a CarQuest parts guy myself. Closest install video I could find was for the ‘23 Tundra….

Hmm, I’d try to track down instructions from Toyota before splicing wires based on a YouTube video. I can’t remember if mine came with instructions or I found them online, but I used an official Toyota document that worked perfectly.

Ah, you were sold an aftermarket kit made by Pop n Lock, not an OEM kit. Plenty of resources on here to get that aftermarket kit installed, but OEM it is not. If I were you I’d take it back and get the actual OEM kit with the part number we’ve given you above. It is plug and play and takes about 30-60min to install.

    Good luck!

Yeah, take that back, the dealership screwed you. Not sure how much you paid for that kit, but you shouldn’t have paid more that about $130. I looked at that one, and decided to go with the Toyota. The PopLock was cheaper, but the quality wasn’t there and I didn’t want any splicing.

This IS OEM. And, it’s made by Pop Locks FOR Toyota. How do I know this? Because I’m in auto parts sales. The dealership initially got me the wrong part though ordered from Southeast Toyota Distribution using vin number. After calling Toyota while I was in the parts department, they confirmed that the part number pictured above is the correct part for my truck and not the one initially found on dealer parts department web tool.

only thing lacking was instructions which Pop Locks tech support helped with as stated before. I appreciate everyone’s insights here.

I’m glad you got it working, but you seem really adamant that this aftermarket product is OEM which just makes me want to:stirthepot:

Not everything that is hard is worth the effort. Some things should be seamless, especially if few others reported "splicing required".
