I have 97 tacoma that has killed 2 alternators in a week. There was some custom wiring from the previous owner and I have disconnected all of that. It has no check engine light and runs great once started. I did a parasitic draw test and the dome light was drawing a lot of power once the truck was off. help

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Time to break out the meter and get some real world numbers.

Where did your failed Alternators Come from ?? I had 5 fail one weekend The truck side was just fine!

Following. I'd also make sure no factory wires are compromised or in need of repair.

Loose connections are always bad and will cause heat buildup, possibly melting the wire jacket. Then you start popping fuses if something shorts to ground.

What kind of wiring mess did you remove?
