2021 TRD SPORT to fit 285/70r17s

My buddy is selling his wheels and tires and I tried them on my truck today and it rubbed horribly. Would getting a 3 inch lift help then fit?

Long Answer = Google is friend. Yes, but you will need to cut front fender, CMC, and with 33in tires expect re-gear.

A lift will help, the correct offset wheels are needed. I have a 2/1 lift, 285s and I didn't cut anything. No rubbing and with a light SL rated tires and a tune I gained power, better torque so re gearing is not necessary.

 

you don’t need to regear. A 2” lift with a high caster UCA like a JBA and a good alignment shop solves this problem without a chop or fender cut.
