New member here, I lurked for a long time but now it's official lol. I've had my 03 Tacoma 4x4 (non TRD) since 2006. I've used it like a truck and also taken good care of it, fixing many little things along the way to keep it looking sharp and working right. 266k on the clock. There were some years where I layed down the miles and also years where I hardly drove it (living out of the country). I'm going to replace my lower ball joints and lower control arm bushings soon and so wanted to post here and introduce myself before I dive into any discussion threads. Hello Tacoma owners!

Thank you! I did a compression test last weekend and was happy with the numbers. I do think this truck will last a long time. It spent a lot of years in the desert so rust is minimal, but I'm living very near the beach again. Somehow only recently I learned about Fluid Film and similar treatments. When I finish my upcoming front end work I'm going to spray the bottom.
    Compression test results (3.4):

Fluid Film works. My frame is in good shape, but new surface rust spots never stop. I spray it right over the CRC Toyota applied with my frame inspection 3 years ago. That stuff holds up as well, especially in the laminated sections and does not wash off. Not sure if you can actually buy the the equivalent on the street.
