I'll second that. This site and the members on it have saved me several hundred dollars over the years. There is an absolute 2nd-gen genius in here who has walked me back from the edge of the cliff several times when I had the 4wd "heebee-jeebees".

Agreed. Hell, I might even drive to Tennessee to look him up! @Dm93 is too far away for me, lol.
    No offense, Shooter!

If I told you one of those two guys, told me to, "Stay away from the 1st gens".
    Would you believe me?

Never the one to follow good advice, Here I am:D

Lol, I'd love to have a good, clean 1st gen. My old T-100 had the 3.4L in it and other than the timing belt and water pump change every 90k, it was a really good engine, but I'm sure you know that. By the third time I changed them (270k miles), I had it down to about 4 hours. The first time, it was an all day sucker!

No offense taken. Dm93 knows a lot more than I do, or ever care to learn.
I spoken to him. I've had to refer to his expertise more than once.
Lets just says, I might have called him a few times to tell him my stuff is "broke".
And ask, How do I fix it?.......

They are getting so old now, that most are pieced together or "patched".
You never know what you're working with unless you are standing there in front of the truck.
I guess, what I am saying is, "It's hard to offer help on an internet forum".

Held together with rubber bands, Boot straps, Zip-ties, and Duck tape .

The 2nd Gens are getting there too.

If you don't use it, you lose it. Most likely the diff hasn't been locked in a while and it may need to be repaired. Regular use will help keeping it in working order.

But if you're wanting to prevent wheel spin on pavement you're using it wrong.

Bro really came in to the wrong subforum, got pissy about being asked clarifying questions by a known source of good info, then didn't even stick around to read all the helpful replies.
