Hello gentlemen! Always wanted a Gen 1 Toyota Tacoma and finally found a pristine 2004 prerunner out of Fort Myers Florida. It was obviously garage kept and well taken care of and only had 140000 miles on it. Recently I just changed out a burned-out bulb in the instrument cluster. This only after watching some videos over and over.

I posted this thread but for some reason it left out my question portion? Anyway while installing what is called the cluster finish panel that is the black panel and having reconnected all the connections being the ECT power connector, the instrument panel brightness connector and DIFF Lock there was a connector I had not noticed when I removed the panel and see nowhere for it to connect to. I'm sure I did not disconnect it and was hoping someone might know what it is for. Thanks

Apparently there were 2 types of dimmer (Rheostat) a 2 wire resistor type and a 3 wire transistor type (although I've only ever seen the 3 wire one), both connectors are present but only one is used.

Thank you both for the information. That puts my mind at ease that that wasn't something I missed.
