so, i got my truck back from the body shop after someone side swiped me in 2 months ago.

for context my driveway is on an incline. i was parked facing up the driveway.

first morning having the truck back. leaving for work at 6am. crank it up and the oil pressure light comes on and flickers. solid for a second and disappears. drives fine to work. (check the oil when i get to work, not low but time for an oil change.) drives fine all day at work no oil pressure light or anything.

next morning facing up the driveway. same thing but horrible noise for a second. like theres no oil in the top of the engine. turned it off and rolled down the driveway and started it up again and nothing happened this time. drives fine to work and drives fine all day. get an oil change after work.

next morning park facing down the driveway. oil pressure light flickers, come on for a solid second then goes away. drive fine all day long.

before this accident i never saw the oil pressure light come on ever except when turning the key ON before turning the engine over.

i havent noticed a loss of power or anything. im concerned something may be damaged in the head but i havent noticed oil anywhere around the engine. for starters i went ahead and order a OEM PCV valve from the toyota dealership..

could this possibly be an oil pressure sensor or oil pump going bad?

    anything comments are appreciated. thanks

Oil Might have been low. Have to wait 5 to 10 minutes after turning engine off before checking.

How long was it at the body shop for? 2 months?

If it was about due for an oil change when you dropped it off, the old oil could of created a little sludge or varnish that's slowing the oil circulation a little. Especially since vehicles get started and shut off alot moving it around the shop without any warm up time to burn off contaminates.

I would try doing an hour or two drive on the highway to get everything hot and worked up then/or next time you do another oil change, use a Toyota filter and a different but good quality oil and go from there. If it persist then take it in to the shop for a check up
