Try Ridgeline, you will forget the ranger! If I had sense, that's what I would get!

They're nice vehicles but for a starting point of over 40 grand with 2-wheel drive... Not going to happen. And of course if you need a truck or an actual off-road rig, they are obviously not up for it. Since mechanically they're just an Odyssey with a body package.

Jokes apart, if I wasn't such a Toyota/Lexus nerd, for most practical purposes the Ridgeline is a great vehicle.

My friend has a newer Ridgeline Black Edition. It is extremely comfortable, quick, quiet, intelligently designed, and feature packed, like the awesome bed storage, speakers in the bed, excellent lane monitoring and radar cruise. We took a 700 mile one way trip in it and it wasn't tiring at all. In my Tacoma half that distance would wear me out. The power and mileage is great. Engine transmission is a great match, unlike the turd gen.

Of course, I rarely offroad, and oh my "friend" who owns the ridgeline is of the fairer sex...so there's always that with the Ridgeline!

Is you think that's high, check out new Taco pricing, especially nicely equipped editions. 24 Tacos comparably equipped are going or 56k+. Insane. I rather buy another 200 LC for a bit more money.

I don't know man. Yesterday I dropped off my v8 4runner at Legends and the loaner is a 23 4runner with this exalted 4.0. I literally can't wait to get my 20 year old one back. That's how much I hate this 4.0 with the 5 speed. After driving this, I don't get the hate turd gens get. My pro never felt this lethargic. Pressing the go fast pedal makes more noise than speed. I dislike this powertrain so much, that I am going to look for another v8 4runner after initially wanting to get a new 4runner for the long term.

My 22 sequioa, 21 LC, 23GX460 are legendary compared to this 4.0.

I wish they put the 4.7 v8 back in production especially in the 4runner. It's my favorite toyota engine even with the timing belt headache.

My tundra and 4runner have it and I had a gx470 at one point. I prefer this engine to the 4.6 v8.

Decent power, great torque below 3k, and better than expected fuel consumption!

    Viva la tractor!

I have no strong feelings towards the 1GR 4.0. It's an engine, it does engine things. Fuel economy sucks, especially with the 6mt and my particular right foot. But I've never bought a vehicle for its fuel economy

True, my point wasn't targeted at you. Just a general observation, that I don't get how 2nd gen owners consider that drive train to be so much better than 3rd gen.

It's a very reliable old tractor is why... And I've driven both and owned two second gens now I prefer it over the 3rd gen lot.. I just can't stand the 3.5
