Ready for it, still not affordable and needs more infrastructure with faster changing or mor range.

Yup agreed. Still think there needs to be more of a focus on hybrids or plug in hybrids to bridge the gap and wait for the technology to catch up

People put so much focus on range of all electric vehicles and totally forget plug in hybrids exist, companies included. I'm not sure why car companies aren't marketing the absolute shit out of plug-in hybrids and why they're perfect for the vast majority Americans. People really think they need like 750+ mile range as if no one stops to stretch their legs on a road trip.

Plug-in hybrids are the cleanest vehicles by far, from a driving and manufacturing standpoint. All of the pros, none of the cons.

It's actually mind boggling to me how overlooked they are. We've had hybrid technology down fairly well for 20 years now and it's still just all or nothing; gas or full electric. Total consumerist war between gas guzzling and giant lithium batteries that benefits absolutely nobody.

I'm mildly passionate about this topic.

Most of the EV’s and hybrids have been boring. Starting to get better last couple years though and more vehicle choices too.

Toyota have quite a range of plug-in hybrids. The whole prime range is excellent. And to the point about them getting better, the RAV4 prime is the fastest vehicle off the line currently in Toyota and the new Prius prime is nothing to sneeze at.

And even the regular hybrid Camry I would take up against any non-super trim Camaro. The Camaro might win in a quarter mile at the end, but the Camry would dust it in the corners and has awesome acceleration, especially in that third gear power band range.

The entire sienna line and almost all of the Highlanders are now hybrids and they seem boring by comparison but when you need them to move they do. And getting 45 plus miles per gallon out of a true parlor is pretty impressive in my book. Probably get more of people would learn how to drive properly

Yet, the majority of vehicles on the road are not plug in hybrids, and most of these vehicles aren't on a ton of people's radar. That's the failure. It's not for lack of funds, either.

Toyota has a lot of recovering to do from their sleepy branding and style they've had for a while. I know the company has been making big strides to revive and liven up the vehicles, but Toyota's reputation for being boring will take a long time to fade. Even as new generations come out, people will see the old generations in the design and it becomes reminiscent of the more "boring" designs of the past.

I'm a big fan of the new Camry style. If I had kids and the funds, the Rav4 Prime would probably be a big wish list item for me.

#1 automaker in the world, and that gap is widening.

I'd say they're doing a fair job of getting that reputation polished

that just means they have sold the most lol

they are doing a good job of making it less boring but lets wait and see if they go back on that in a few years.

Idk. Tow trucks are boring. But that's Ford's main goal right now.

Not completely true. Has more to do with where the manufacturing happens.
Honda uses NGK and Denso as factory plugs.
    Typically they are interchangable though.

Same with Toyota. For the most part, you'll see Denzo, but occasionally you'll pull an NGK plug out of a Camry or even a taco.

I have nothing against NGK and if I'm servicing Hondas I actually lean on them first.

It's been easier to cross reference and find NGKs at the local parts houses until the last few years as Denso has become more readily available.
I typically also will go NGK unless it's something that specifically calls for another.
