Tried out the new rig today. It's a little tippy compared to my other kayak, but it caught fish. :D

Oh there will be some mods all right
That's a shame that it was tippy because it looks like it was made to stand up in

Outriggers would fix that. Or more beer for ballast.

A little late afternoon Winch Puzzle. Kinda like the NYT crossword only more fun. Got myself seriously high centered and pinched. Couldn't back or turn because of logs and no traction. These views are after the winching was done and I knew I could get out. Good test of the new rear trail receiver and ability to use the winch in back. Looked doable but the damn logs kept moving! Ready for ARKANSAS!
Edit Update: Weighed the truck today: #6120 w/o bedding, clothes, food, water

Edit Edit: Thats #400 lighter than the truck was when it had the lighter tires.

Where did you put it? Taillight or gas door area? When I had the bed I put mine at the top of the taillight area...

Yep, top of the driver's side tail light. If we get that deep we'll have a lot of other things to worry about.

That’s where I put mine as well with the same thought process. Have not become a submarine yet. You will undoubtedly push that further towards the limit in Arkansas.

27" of water is my limit. I've been deeper and the experience was disturbing and regrettable. IIRC, 3 of us had a minor starting issue for a few days after. Nothing major but we had to hit the switch a few times before they would fire. Was very frustrating and concerning for a bit, but soon became predictable and expected. They all cleared up after a couple of days but we wondered what had drowned. I also didn't know about the "bow wave" at the time. Not that it would have mattered. I was 1st and had to break ice. Found out my rear passenger door leaked little bit, too. I put the breather hose up the gas tube.

Yes. Is was a bit of a worry being 1300 miles from home and truck won't start.
I had a start issue just one time after coming back, last May.
I just had to fix a problem that took some time to show up.
Like I told my mechanic, all hobbies have a cost.
The fun is worth the cost.

That doesn't mean I'm going to do stupid stuff.
