Warn winch head unit

I installed the Cali raised bumper with winch . The relocation plate just makes the cables look like they are too tight . Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any other way this controller can be mounted without using the plate that came with the bumper?

 

depends on how far you want to go.

i built all my own cables for my apex winch(wanted 4ga instead of the 6 ga they include), and remote-mounted the waterproof solenoid on the cross member, outside of the bulky cast shoebox that was used to aesthetically house it.
