    Hi all:

I have a plug with rubber plug in it under the fuse box in the engine compartment, 2001 v6. Two wires, one is white with black stripe and connects to ground, the other is red with blk stripe and I can’t figure out where it goes.

looks likes a BU1 connector for power seats, but it is under hood and I don’t have power seat.

I would like to repurpose if it goes into cab.

pict attached. Anyone know where this goes and what it was supposed to do?

    thanks

Just run dedicated new wiring for whatever it is you're trying to do. Attempting to reuse existing wiring is just going to cause you or someone else problems later when they try to troubleshoot the rats nest.

Is your truck 4wd or prerunner?

The wiring to the electronic ADD actuator on the front diff uses the same style of connector and it connects right near the driver side motor mount (just below the fuse box).

Maybe Prerunners have the wiring there, but not connected, so they can use the same prebuilt harness, and yours is a prerunner?

Again just a wild shot in the dark, I'm probably way off.

Not a prerunner. 4wd. It came plugged with a rubber stopper. Will check if the front axel is plugged in.
