Told post here... New and can't seem delete other thread but...

2020 Tacoma with no roof mods etc...

    Issue: k
Keeps leak when HEAVY rain. However, ONLY the back floor board oddly.

Already, had dealership take look and said was above driver side windshield and took entire (hard to see your truck this way tell ya) but entire "interior out" to track this.

Was said to been leak top driver side windshield, addressed and put back together.

Less one month later a good rain and now both rear floorboards vs just driver side.

I am aware of a cargo light recall for 2016-2019s... They said it looked dry, now "I am" not so sure.

This truck is my treasure and my peace mind get away.

It is my hope there may be others with same (2020 Tacoma double cab SR5) issue and point me into what I or they may not be seeing.

Any tips greatly be appreciated. Thx

Have a friend use a garden hose and spray water in specific spots and you look inside for leaks.

    Moon roof?

    Roof rack?

    Did you buy it new?

Probably the cab vents on the back wall. They leak on some trucks and you don’t find it until the water is in the rear floor board and under the rear seat area.

Amazingly, my little Kia Spectra also has that exact same leak: only affects the rear seat floors, not the front floors and not the seats or headliner. No moonroof on mine either.

Best I can figure it is the inside door panel "weather seal" -- that plastic cover over the metal part of the door when you take the inside of the door panel off. They use "dum dum" (I know, first time I'd heard of it too) to seal around the plastic so there are no leaks because water gets into the door itself through the window plastic that acts like a squeegee when the glass goes up and down. 3M sells 6" strips of butyl weather strip sealant (dum dum) for $31 on Ama-zon, it's sticky black tar stickum that never hardens. Perhaps you should look into that?
