    Hello,

I have a very stange problem with SR5 Tacoma that I bought in November 2023. It only started about a month into ownership and it's that when I put the gearstick into reverse, the R next to the gearstick doesn't light up, the reverse gear doesn't come up on my dash and the reversing camera doesn't switch on. However, after about 5 - 7 seconds, the truck will go into gear, but with a big clunk and a jerky movement.

The problem is intermittent, sometimes it works completely fine.

Has anyone had similar issues at all or could even give me a hand with a first place to look for diagnosis? I took it to Toyota and they charged me $190 and said it was that I had the Raptor lights installed.

What did they charge $190 for? Sounds like a classic stealership move to me. That should be covered under warranty. But what do I know

That’s just the flat rate they charge to have your car looked at. They took a few days, unplugged my Raptor lights from the fuse panel and then said “Yep that’s good” and gave it back to me.
I needed the car back relatively quickly so I left and have been attempting to self diagnose.

Did you get your truck new or used?
