Hello, I'm pretty new here and am awed by the number of people who take the time to diagram and instruct we newbies. I'm hoping there someone can help me with my fog light wiring harness. I've gone thru several only to have to return them. ( harness too short to go thru firewall, on/ off switch not fit space in dash). The one I'm currently trying to install fits fine except the others had a tap in wire to go into a fuse or splice. That wire only illuminated the on/off switch. This set does not have that tap in wire, only the harness that plugs into the switch. The company said to run the wire designated for the battery to a fuse, but I read on here that won't be enough to power the lights. I know nothing about wiring. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 17 SR Tacoma and had a mess on my hands when I tried to install the Limited model fog lights. The SR harness didn't make any provisions for fog lights and at at $120 for the correct harness I opted to go to the junkyard and removed a harness from a Camry for $10 so I could make proper connections with the fog lights and my harness at the fuse box. I remember only having to buy an adapter for the fuse if memory serves me right. Everything works fine the last 2 years. Just be careful what ever you do.

Thank you. I have a fuse tap adapter for the fuse, just don't have a specific wire outlined for fuse. All the wiring, other than ground and hot wire to battery, go into bundle that plugs into on/ off switch. I need to figure what wire and where to tap into so my on/off switch doesn't stay lit all the time. Will drain battery the way its set up now.

Your profile nor posts tell us anything about your truck nor the type of fogs you are working with. You are in the 2nd gen forum, so if that's correct many models were pre wired. So maybe you have an SR or 5 lug model?

Anyway, Diode Dynamics are about the best fog choice out there, and wiring for them is pretty simple.

Member @memario1214 of Hotshot Offroad can set you up with all the right bits. If you want to go that way.

So sorry. I have a 2014 base cab Tacoma. I have a set of fog lights. I have the on/off switch through the large firewall grommet. The wiring harness didnt come with a spliced in wire to tap into fuse or acc wire. So....my on/off switch stays lit even when keys are not in ignition.
