I just got done swapping over my coil springs from my 2003 tacoma to my new eibach struts, ( spring compressor was horrifying!)

My top bushing doesn't look near as squished as the oem one, it's hard to torque it to 22ftlb as the fsm asks, because you can't get a torque wrench on, but it definitely feels tight.

Here is the new install, new strut and strut mount.

    Here is the old one

They are nearly the exact same height.

Here is the order of bushings i used. The eibach shock came with an additional bushing on the bottom, but the KYB had one already mounted in the top ( as you can barely see it)

I think the top nut is bottomed out or almost at the very bottom of the threads to continue tightening.

Is it an issue? or just different design

Crowsfeet on the torque wrench with a wrench holding the center stem will allow you to measure torque. Offset the torque setting based on how long the crowsfeet is if you want to get real anal.
