I am looking to purchase a Southern Style Offroad slimline hybrid front winch bumper. What are you guys using for reinforcement support brackets, so that the bumper doesn't tear off my frame horns on the first recovery?

Hoping that there's something available that is bolt on to where I don't have to weld or drill holes in the frame.

    Thanks

I have reinforcements from C4. They were bolt on and worked with my winch mount/low pro bumper I got from them

Thanks VXEric. It looks like a good option. However I'll have to try and figure out if they will work with the SSO bumper, as I don't want a full bumper due to the added weight.

I just finished installing the C4 brackets with an SSO slimline bumper on a 2015. They bolted up with no fitment issues. You can even keep the lower bumper extension brackets that come with the SSO. Would highly recommend. You'll need longer bolts for the 4 that go through the reinforcement brackets. It took about 10 minutes with a 4.5" angle grinder to get the heads off the factory "studs" and knock them out. Replaced them with longer grade 8 hardware for the extra thickness. I also replaced the supplied C4 frame bolts with grade 8 stuff.

I also tried the BAMF brackets with this bumper and they don't fit. There isn't enough thickness in them for this bumper, and even after modding them they wouldn't go on.

    Cool beans. Much appreciated agent!

What winch did you end up going with?

The Engo 10k synthetic. Haven't had to use it yet, so no reviews, but it does fit nicely.

if you're planning on regular winching the aftermarket brackets are just a temporary fix. I'd cut off the original and rebuild with thicker metal.

I have theses and they have been solid. I’ve done quite a few recoveries and it’s been great.
