I was just there in Dec and it was cold and rainy. I talked to some guys there and they were telling me that the fishing there (trout) is phenomenal. In terms of hunting, from the videos I have seen it is mostly on ranches where they want to eliminate or keep the deer at bay but I may be wrong about that. Would love to know myself.

Wild bores are 99% of hunting. It's not very common but the real bad asses hunt with knives. I'm not joking. It's a life long dream for many to take down a 300+ lb bore with a knife.

Other than that, you have fishing.

On the big island, the summit of Mauna kea is permafrost meaning the ground never reaches above 32f even in July. There is snow in the winter. The area at the base of the mountain has endless hunting, but its wet and muddy.

that’ll show some guides, I think you can draw a tag for public land on Lanai but it’s harder to accomplish from what I understand.. obviously some logistics you run into being away from home on an island

Hunting is highly regulated, unlike some parts of the mainland here.

DLNR has all the info you need.
    https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/recreation/hunting/mammal/

Each island is isolated and not every island have all of the same type living things to murder.

Ok? Maybe I more mean they enforce it more than I’ve seen and heard of here in the other 48.
