I recently did the tundra brake upgrade with all OEM parts from Joe Joe and the hose kit from Adventure Taco. Had some knowledgeable friends help me. Everything went fine and I’m sure I broke them in correctly. My issue is now they squeal bad. They have been squealing since the next morning of putting them on. It’s mostly during light braking. If I’m stopping quickly or forcefully I don’t really get the squeal. Anyone else run into this? Any suggestions as to what it could be? Thanks!

    Pads only?
    How many miles on rotors?

if there is a lip on outer edge of rotor, thst might be the problem

Is it just one side? Does it stop straight? Does this happen cold and /or hot?
Pull the wheel off and check the brake pad squealers..and the clips that hold the pads in.
Clearly something is not right, it obviously should not be doing that with new everything.

Do you get squealing when light braking in reverse too? Mine does that but doesn't squeal going forward. I wonder what causes the squealing too. I even took out the shims and lubed them, etc.

it sounds like it’s from one side but hard to tell now that you mention it. Does not pull when stopping. My theory is that it happens much more when cold. They don’t seem to squeak as much after driving a bit. Still do it some though.

I'd pull the wheel off on the side you think is squealing the worse and take a look at the brake pad squealers to to see if one is touching the rotor.

The other part of that question is did you trim the dust shield to fit the caliper?

Are you positive you got OEM pads? These symptoms remind me of the time I put cheap aftermarket pads on my old Honda. Only squealed under light duty and left dust EVERYWHERE. Set of OEM pads fixed the problem.

Other than that I don’t have ideas that haven’t already been mentioned, check dust shield clearance, etc. Hope you find it!
