yeah it's some big cold front over the mountains mixing with a warm front from the ocean I guess, or maybe I have that reversed...either way it's angered the wind gods

yeah I'll take torrential rain over wind any day. Few years ago a wind storm blessed us with a free gazebo from the neighbor's yard, took a few power/cable lines with it.

Yes I prefer rain to wind almost every time.

Idaho isn't cheap. It's more expensive than most realize and $4k won't get you very far. Let alone working in a coffee stand.

For a reference point, the average home in Arkansas costs $198,838. The average price in Idaho is $443,500. Expect the same trend when it comes to rent. Gas is more expensive too. It all adds up. I'm an engineer with a decent job and I can't afford to buy a home here. It worked with dual income, but otherwise, won't happen.

One of my best friends growing up moved to Post Falls outside of Couer dAlene (probably butchered that) about 10 years ago. He took over his dad's firearm accessory manufacturing business and moved it from CA to out there. Obviously it's doing much better in the new location lol. I still need to go visit him one of these days.

My old stomping grounds. I'm not surprised, the further north you go, the more people distrust the environment. I wouldn't live in that region again myself but I do enjoy visiting. Miss the lakes and fishing, but that's about it.
