I’ll always support more fun colors being available. Wish they’d do more than one a year.

Spruce Mica and Speedway Blue were so so so choice on the 2ng gen. 3rd gen for sure has less desirable colors overall (to me).

I got Army Green because it was the only decent color in ‘21, I’m quite envious of the Blue Crush that was offered several months after I got mine. In general I think the various flat colors aren’t all that great. Most are from the FJ days so they’re very “well aged” by now.

But fingers crossed I won’t be in the new car market for many years so what do I care! I want more straight up purple options!

Since I'll not be buying new I'm not fretting over it.

In the used market, color is tertiary to condition and trim for me.

But I do like the spruce color when I see one well kept.

I actually enjoy Toyota color offerings. Check out the Ford Ranger, you can have any of the 50 shades of gray offered. Only red and blue as actual colors that pop.

Didn’t think it would be a color I’d pick but just caught my eye.

Spruce, Timberland and Speedway Blue (plus of course Pyrite) were always my favs. MGM and Army Green are up there for me too. 4th Gen does have Bronze Oxide, which is pretty cool looking IMO being a Pyrite fanboy.

I’m just glad Toyota still kept their fun orange (Solar Octane).. Ford sadly got rid of their fun orange on the raptors, Code Orange has been replaced with Shelter Green. Not much of a fun color like code orange. Seems to me that all the manufacturers are slowly getting rid of the fun, pop colors.

Agreed. As for me, I am a more neutral-color lover. Blacks, greys, some blues and I love that new bronze. Some tans and browns aren't bad either. I like looking at all the new colors, but I'd never want to own one in that bright of a color. For me it sticks out too much, and that's not something I want to do in this day and age. Blending in is the name of the game......or will be.

A while back I had to take my 2nd Gen Tacoma into NYC to check out a set of Tannoy vintage speakers I had seen on FB Marketplace. Anyway, it was in the art district and it took a while to find a parking spot. I found one right outside of a French Cafe where they had the most wonderful pastries in a display so I stopped in for a croissant along with a cup of fine coffee. I took a seat right by the window with my Tacoma just outside and began re-nourishing myself. As I watched the bustle outside I noticed an old man walk up to my Tacoma and begin staring at it in with great interest. Then he started circling it and looking at it from all angles. This went on for at least ten minutes right before my eyes. I wasn't concerned because he seemed to just be observing it.

As he was doing this, other pedestrians would stop, talk with him briefly and smile as they looked at the Tacoma. It seemed like this old man was a celebrity or something. Finally after eating I hit the head then headed outside to walk down to the building where the speakers were. First, however, I walked up to the old man and said, "you like it?" He turned to look at me and replied, "Un-it's wonderful, is it yours young man?" It was somewhat hard to understand him as he had a thick German accent, but the tears in his eyes were unmistakable. "Yes it is," I said. "I must say," he began, "in all my years I have never seen a color more wondrous and sublime.....not just on a vehicle, but any color anywhere. I am moved beyond words. The depth and contrast, the warmth and brilliance, I am entranced. If I go get my paints, do you mind if I paint it?" I was a little surprised but said, "Well I'm only gonna be here for about an hour or two so if that's enough time, have at it." "Thank you," he said and walked off in excitement. Then I went off to find the speakers, which I auditioned but chose not to ultimately buy as they seemed a bit flat.

When I walked back to my Tacoma two hours later I was surprised to find a small crowd had assembled by my Tacoma watching the old man paint. Now it was clear he was a man of some renowned. I found a woman on the periphery of the crowd and asked her if she knew who this painter was. She looked at me as if I asked a stupid question and said, "seriously?" "Yes, I don't know who he is," I replied. "That's Gerhard Richter,"she said, "his works are being displayed at the Guggenheim and he's receiving an award tonight." "Wow," was all I could say despite never having heard of the man before. Then I meandered through the crowd and told the old man I had to go now. He immediately lunged in and wrapped his arms around me and began sobbing and repeating, "thank you, thank you." "It's okay," I said, " glad you liked it." With that I got in my Tacoma started it up and drove off. Later on that night I googled his name and was surprised at how well known the painter is. I thought that stuff died out with the internet and all.
