I'm replacing my ac compressor and the hoses on my 2012 taco. The original hose bolts only bite a few threads in after replacing the hoses resulting in stripping the compressor threads. Now I'm trying to avoid buying another compressor by replacing the original bolts with longer ones.

Other than being metric, are there any other things I should look for when looking for replacements, i.e, grade 8, stainless, zinc, etc.?

standard steel 8.8 metric bolt should be fine.
I don’t see any need for anything else.
It’s only holding the compressor on.

If you post pictures of the head of the current bolt, I can tell you what grade they are.

BTW, for some odd reason, a Toyota wants you tighten them in order.
