My brother in law cut off his 1st. knuckle on the ring finger with his log splitter last fall.

 

I was rinsing out a 1000mL glass graduated cylinder when it started slipping out of my hands. I was lucky it caught the counter top and only broke a piece out of the base and not shatter. Amazing how instinct kicks in and tells you to catch something when you know you should let it go.

 

Hopefully he’ll be alright!

My friend that met us here in Costa Rica for a week got home on Wed and sent me a pic of his foot last night. He had a couple of blisters from walking, and apparently got cellulitis from that. His whole leg looks red and swollen, but I'd take that over getting a toe crushed or a fight with a log splitter.

I'll remember to mention that if it happens again!

 

Been there done that. reminds me of the time I kicked the table leg and my toe was facing the wrong direction. Wife freaking out, I reached down and popped it back into place and off I went .

My brother works for a farm equipment place, they were unloading a 6’ tiller and the strap slipped and it fell on his foot. One of the tines landed on his big toe. Had he had steel toe boots on it would have been worse. He’s lucky it’s not worse, hopefully it’ll heal up quickly.

 

I hope/pray that it heals up period. That looks bad.
