Unreal this has become some common. Toyota quality is disappearing. I bought and sold a 2022 TRDOR 4x4 only after a month of having it. Felt so cheaply made after owning (3) 2nd gens and my current 2020 4R

It’s like a $20 fix, just annoying on an expensive vehicle.

Dealer found this was the same body Mount installed last time, it wasn’t aligned properly on install. Fixed again.

Still been battling this noise but finally figured it out. The shop that installed my SPC's (which were installed to fix another noise I was having a year or so ago) had a bad batch of them come in. The upper bushings (where the bolt goes through) would prematurely wear and cause a knock sound.

Because of the speed and harshness of bump I'd have to hit to duplicate the noise, I never thought I was going to figure it out. Luckily, local expert came, we jacked up the truck, and you can push in/pull out on the top of the tire and you can hear it/feel it move. Just need to get a day off of work to get it swapped out and a fresh alignment.

That is a common diagnosis method for joints and bearings.

    Glad you found it.

I've had a 'clunk' for the longest time on my truck (30k+ miles) and never could figure out what it was. Recently, it appeared on the passenger side as well, along with having a terrible metal-on-metal grinding noise when turning. I replaced these mounts with the energy suspension ones thinking it was my issue, but unfortunately, it was not. My friend and I troubleshot it all night and decided it had to be the coils or struts making the noise. I took out my 5100s and put in a different setup and the noises were gone. The bushings on my 5100s were completely blown out and done for, which I'm assuming was the cause of my noises. They lasted me around 45k miles/4years.

So if you've replaced these mounts and still have a loud clunking noise...check your strut bushings, especially if you have 5100s. Cleared up all my noises and I am extremely happy now, plus I got new bushings upfront (only 1 was super bad).

    Good stuff.

Did you use the universal front ones or the whole kit from Rogue?

This bushing, or the one inside the Upper Mount?

I used the universal ones. And the bushing that was toast in the struts was the bottom mounting point.

    Thanks for the info.

Were you able to order them from Bilstein?

I've done a little research and people say Bilstein won't sell you them, but you can get them from other retailers. Then you need a hydraulic press to get the old one out and the new one in. I've already moved on and gotten a different setup (didn't know they were replaceable at the time), so I may just hold on to them if I ever need them down the road.

Thanks again. I might have to look into that, as I have a creaking going on up there. I'd be happy if it is just those.

BTW, I was getting the same noise from the stock suspension / coilovers also. Swapping to the 5100s had solved that.

The Topanga Taco has had that noise like many and always suspected the coil overs.

That’ll be next after the e-locker install!

Everyone...thanks for this thread. I had been having this squeak for several weeks and, I wasn't able to get the truck into the dealer until last week...5 days from my warranty expiring. I did some research here and found several threads, including this one, so I took it to the dealer to have it diagnosed and fixed.

The video is from last Tuesday evening....you can hear how bad the squeak is. When I took it in Thursday morning, it couldn't be duplicated. I rocked and rocked and nothing. The dealer kept the truck and couldn't find it either. I gave them the links to the threads here and told them it is a fairly common issue, but they said that since they couldn't duplicate it, they couldn't just tear that apart to check because Toyota wouldn't pay them for warranty work. I kept telling them that this was the issue, but, we all know how much respect they give to the self-diagnosing "Internet Guy".

I kept pushing because, from the video, we both knew there was an issue...they kept looking. Finally, late Friday I got a text saying they found it...they called them the "Cab" mounts...not the body mounts...is this them just renaming it to save face, or are these different mounts? If different, those with the issue might want to mention these, too.

Anyway, they left me with the old mounts that prove the issue that so many have identified here. I'm posting pics of the failed bushings, and one photo that clearly proves they were installed off center. I hope this helps those who run into this issue in the future.

    Yes there are the same.
If you search on parts seller online it is indeed called "cab mounting"

I replaced mine for the energy suspension but made it worse... So I guess I would go back with oem...

anyone only get kind of a light popping or light clunk type noise with no squeaking? I can't particularly duplicate it 100% of the time but its progressively getting worse. Truck is a 23 and started at about 3800mi.
