    Hi everyone.

I'm getting new rims, tires 275/70/17 and Bilstein 5100 2-inch lift kit with OME springs on my 2012 TRD.

I have a 120lb roof top tent on the bed 8 months out of the year.

For the allignment, I'm thinking of having a full tank of gas, but I'm not sure whether to keep the tent or not during the alignment process.

Looking for your thoughts whether that even matters, and thank you in advance. Cheers!

Keep the tent on for the alignment if it’s already on. But 120 lbs. is not that much weight. A full fuel tank vs. an empty fuel tank is ~125 lbs difference, for instance, so you could alternatively just fill the tank and leave the tent off to split the difference.

If it were my truck and I was being anal about it, I would keep the tent on and fill the tank halfway, and add some weight in the driver’s seat to simulate my presence. That’s what one shop here in Seattle does. But keep in mind that just having an middle-aged male passenger is probably going to do more to change the alignment than the tent or a full tank of gas.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
My tent was on full time when I did my post lift alignment. Tent is off now with just the bed rack and it didn't affect anything.

Have it aligned as you intend to have it for daily driving.

weight in the bed 100% matters to the alignment, the front starts to point toward and camber climbs up with load.

    ^^^^This

I was told for years that having someone in the drivers seat didn’t matter. Before leaving on my batshit road trip I had 33’s put on and got a new alignment.

Guy at the shop called me the day before and said to have my gear I was going to have with me in the bed of the truck when I showed up.

When I arrived he put my truck on and got out left the door open and told me to get in. When I asked why he shows me the difference in the readings with me in and out of the vehicle.

Needless to say I got back in.
