I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport with 55k miles. I went on a trip and noticed my brakes making a grinding sound when I was applying the brakes but only when I was close to coming to a complete stop. I looked at the brakes and saw that my front driver disc was roughed up. Looks like the caliper might be stuck? Is that covered under warranty? I was going to replace pads, caliper, and disc but wondering if I’m doing this right and if Toyota should cover some of that. Thanks in advance!

im in Denver but do lots of driving to the mountains which would prob still include me in the salt belt. Did road snow treatment cause this? I’ve lived here my all my life and haven’t experienced this before.

    With a 2019, probably
Mountain driving, maybe you just used up your brake pads?
Only way to know for sure is take it apart and check slide pins, etc., and look for uneven pad wear

you wore out your brakes.....in 4 or 5 years. No, not covered under warranty. Brakes are a wear item. At the least, you'll need pads and rotors. If the other 3 pads are close to being gone, I'd leave the caliper alone. If the other 3 have plenty of life left in them, I'd rebuild or replace the caliper.
