    You're allowed to be comfortable.

It's not crying, its a criticism. I literally cant reach the steering wheel from my seating position. These arent 10,000$ trucks from the 80s, they are 40-60k now, they should fit.

I've owned many vehicles from the 80s and 90s without telescoping and enjoyed some, hated some.

    Sure we are.

Funny how picky We are have become. Everything has to be just right, or it’s the end of the World. The late model stuff is miles beyond those old trucks, yet people still piss and moan. Dunno, seems pretty gawd damn good to me in comparison.

This all makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing this. Dealerships use the cheapest oil they can buy. Toyota is only interested is getting past the warranty without failure. This video is plain and simple in explanation. He is showing why 5k should be the max and it makes sense. Tires don't need to be rotated at 5K! Even having your oil lab tested won't reveal the issue that caused that engine failure. Then on the other side people say oil companies want you to change the oil so they can get your money. There's truth to that but I would refer back to this guys wisdom for 5k oil change. I've been seeing this guy's videos pop up since I got my Tacoma. The more I see them the more I like his insight.
Watch this video and you may question how good Toyota oil filters are.

I think about this a lot. I hear people get upset when the cruise control starts gear hunting when climbing Red Mountain pass while towing their 8000 pound Airstream. Ok, hyperbole, but not really. The trailer towers really will do anything to keep the speedo at 75 no matter the grade or condition, and get highly upset if they aren't going the limit. I watch them attempt to pass every time I take a hill in the right lane. (Cool, I'll just pass right back when you have to stop and replenish that gasoline you just burned.)

I grew up in an era when the LTD station wagon would take those same passes and couldn't muster more than 50 mph with the pedal pinned. My truck that I bought new in 2000 would still struggle in the hills.

And now, my taco can climb most grades with a 3000 pound trailer at a very respectable speed. It could do it at 80 if I had no regard for abusing it. Most people here still argue that it's underpowered. Get the hell outta here. This truck will run circles around the V8s I had in the 1990s, AND it will do it without smoking oil or burning brakes.

I do see the amazing advances in engine tech that happened in the prior 30 years. Not the computers. Just the fact that one can squeeze a Corvette's horsepower out of a Civic's fuel consumption. That's pretty damn impressive. Know what grandad's fuel economy was in his '79 bronco? Six. 6MPG, highway. Less than 5 in the city. Top speed of 80, and damn that Bronco really hated anything above 65.

I see that amazing advancement and I appreciate it. And it does make me wonder if the complainers don't.

I'm coming up on one year since my last oil change, the oil has less than 400 miles of combined driving on it. I'm thinking of sending it to Blackstone for analysis. lol

Sight unseen ordered one of the first 3rd gens in our area. Test drove a sold unit but not long enough to get an idea.

Again not crying, it’s a criticism (thats shared by many). If no one makes complaints we get no changes.

You're generalizing and sounding like a boomer. No one tows their car to the dealer if their accessories aren't working.

    Maybe you're out of touch?

It is amazing how far we have come. Do believe it is about perspective, us older codgers that grew up in that gawd awful stuff from the 60s, 70s, 80s…today’s “basic” trucks are luxurious in comparison. I also don’t buy vehicles very often since I think they are terrible wastes of money. There is a 20 year difference between my trucks, I still can’t get over how much nicer the 3rd Gen is over my 1st Gen. The features that now come standard in a good ol’ pick ‘em up truck were reserved for luxury cars.

The younger generation will never know how terrible those old vehicles were, nor realize how good they have it now. Do have to say, the new truck does have me a bit spoiled…don’t realize those little extra features it has that I take for granted, until I jump into my 1st Gen.

If the Tacoma is so uncomfortable, have you thought of selling it for something else?

Unhappy folks tend to be more vocal, so the squeaky wheel does get the grease, though they might of screwed up seating ergonomics in the 4th Gen for those of us who were perfectly fine with previous gens, the silent majority of you will.

I've always been a 5k oil change interval guy on all my Toyotas. Sure Toyota state's 10k interval on the Tacoma but I'll pass on that and stick with 5k. Just go with what you want and don't mind the negative folks on here.

Where did the OP state that searching is too much work? or ask for You to do everything?
It seems you like to change what a person has said to fit your narrative? Kind of like Rachel Maddow or Don Lemon...
if your e-feelings are so sensitive maybe you should stick to your oprah show.

Here is the admission that we need to do the work for him (from post #1). I am sure someone can be found to do the hard work of reading it for you if necessary.

I’m sure there’s already one of these out here but sometimes creating new is easier than searching.

Friday is over. Ridiculous statements and oil change threads are on hold for a few more days.
