Anyone installed RedArc Liberty brake controller that didn't have the factory tow package?

2002 Bagged Taco, 2013 Double Cab Daily

Bagged, back half, sheet metal bed, custom paint, narrowed rear, 20’s

Looking for help/advise on installing RedArc Liberty brake controller on my 13 that did not come with factory tow package.

everything online is people who have the tow package.

mine has the plug in the footwell that the harness plugs into but I'm not sure if I have to hardwire the controller.

any help is greatly appreciated
