Can't remove rear tail light lens due to frozen/stripped screws on 1996

Today I tried to put on a set of LED back up lights. I got one side done, screws came out very easy. Then the other side had 2 screws that would not come out.

I got a perfect fit with a real sharp phillips screwdriver, but they would not move. And the screws seem to be slightly stripped. I even tried spraying a little WD-40 to try to unfreeze them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get these screws out?

I don't own a drill to drill them out. Does anyone know a place I can get replacement tail light lens for a 1996?

Finally, will having one LED back up bulb and one standard bulb damage anything?

You will need a drill and tap out kit.
The drill you will need needs to have pretty high rpm.
As far as the lights go, I have no idea

 

Thanks. Since I don't have a drill or tap kit, might be easier to just break the damn plastic lens, use vice grips to turn the screws until they come out, and put in new lens and screws. It all depends if I can find a super cheap lens.

 

Try an impact driver.
Strike with hammer, causes it to turn a few degrees with each strike.

In the past five years I’ve bought only Vessel for screwdrivers. The JIS standard is what most of the fasteners on our Tacomas are, and the new DIN standard work far better on Phillips also.

I have that impacta screwdriver and it works wonderfully.

I also have their manual impact driver but that would be overkill for a tail light lens.

I just removed my tails to install a trailer lighting kit. The screws go into plastic inserts and the drivers side was difficult. For some reason, there was a lot of friction and squealing as they came out. You might be able to access from below to get some pb blaster sprayed on them.
