Great info here, especially for the plastic compatibility so thanks for warning me. Mine started creaking again yesterday so this is a well timed thread.

    Hey everyone,

I'm experiencing the same issue with my Tacoma's clutch pedal, which is driving me crazy. I've already obtained high temperature brake grease, but I'm unsure of where exactly to apply it. Despite trying to lubricate a few points of contact in the clutch assembly, the problem continues. Could anyone possibly provide a diagram or some guidance on the specific areas that require greasing? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Post a picture under your dash looking up at everything and I can circle it or while looking under there press the pedal and watch what moves. The main source of my squeak was a little piece of plastic that does a 180 around a metal rod as the pedal is pressed but I also pushed some grease into the spring with my finger

I used bike chain dry lube and it actually worked a treat. Might give that a shot?

Wanted to update this - took it upon myself to investigate the little squeak I got with the FJ pedal. Turns out I forgot to lube up the bushing the clevis hooks to. Everything else (pedal pivot and spring hookups) were greased. So I took out the clevis pin, slathered some disc brake grease in the bushing itself and the outside faces (where the clevis slides against), coated the clevis pin itself lightly and put it back together.

    Noise gone. FJ pedal FTW

There are two places I found grease needed to go. First, and most importantly, the backside of the pedal where the master cylinder rod pushes up against the back of the pedal. The end of the master cylinder rod has a pecker looking thing that goes into the back of the pedal. That will make noise eventually. I packed disc brake grease the best I could into the backside of the pedal.

Then up top there is a metal pin with a plastic bushing on it that the return assist spring hooks into. Sometimes some noise can come from there too. I put some grease on my finger and just spread it around on the pin and the plastic bushing.

Drink enough beers and you won't hear the creak anyway

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
Hmmm... my 2009 had the clutch creek. I thought they surely would have fixed it by now! Guess I have something to look forward to.

For me I applied polyurethane grease to the rod/under the plastic in it's opening circled in yellow and forced some onto/into the spring in green while cycling the pedal a few times. Then applying a little more while the pedal was depressed to both the spring and metal rod/plastic piece opening. I'm over 100'000kms since and no squeaks

Sounds like you are up a creek without a pedal. No one has suggested to turn up the radio?

I had greased the pivot early, but when it warmed up the noise came back - or rather a much different spronging noise, not a creak. Like a crooooeeek, and sproooing......

So I got a little wild with Amsoil spray silicone lube, followed by magic locksmith lube, orange smelling stuff claiming no petro smell, etc. HOLY COW. The whole mess is completely silent.

Other than a bad design, Toyota put zero factory lube all up in there.
