The only thing I don't like (on paper) about the Ranger so far is that it doesn't have a composite bed like the Taco. A steel bed with a drop-in or spray-in liner is 90's as f__k.

I hate having to click on the spray in bedliner option as well. Toyota has nailed his aspect of pickups IMO.

What's this Ford love going on here? I've owned too many Ford's in my life and they've bled me dry. My Gen 1 Taco Hit 280k before I sold it (it's still on the road...) I expect the same from my Gen 3. Never looking back!

They’ve nailed it so well that the only other truck with a plastic bed is a ridgeline.

My 2009 Taco has an integral fiberglass bed...I think. It's still as intact as the day it rolled off the factory floor.

It removes some fictitious standard XLT discount of $500. So yeah it's really $1445. I still think heated seats, powered seats, powered rear window and other stuff for less than $1500 is a killer deal. Probably only a recall or two between all that stuff lol.

Fine with me. Olden days they had wood floors, so weirdly bed technology is not the big 2.5's strong suit.

The reliability delta between Japanese vehicles and 'Murican vehicles isn't what it was 30 years ago.

Trailers still have wood floors and they are way easier to replace when damaged than any steel or plastic

Just under 63, I considered the value of the plans I had for the off-road ( tires, lift, arb bumper etc.. ) and the Raptor was one and done from the factory.

I'm no fan of sunroofs and plastic bumper covers either.

Especially when those Japanese vehicles are built in Mexico to maximize profits.

I bet it ends up cheaper than a Pro or Trail Hunter and you get a 3.0 V6 with it. :spending:

Nah. Maybe old growth beds from 70 years ago, but not the crap they pass off as lumber nowadays.

The plastic bed was ingenious but, how could they not provide 48" width between wheel wells as Ford has ?

Today I was cutting up a platform I built 30 years ago, was shocked at how straight, strong, rigid, and heavy the 2x4's were.

Composite beds in ‘05 still work great in ‘24. Also pretty much the same deck rail system from Gen2 out back in Gen4. Sometimes if it works, no need to re-invent.

One item I will miss is Toyota’s cruise control stalk design, which dated all the way back to the ‘80’s. Sweet simplicity, less buttons on the wheel.

White, if they had the old school ford blue I would gone with that. The contrast of the white and black trims is sharp though....

Seeing how there is more poke with wheels on the 4th gen vs previous, are the wheel/suspension components slightly longer or does the entire assembly just sit out a little further?
