I have a 2013 V6, not sure why my power steering reservoir cap is so hard to remove? I twisted the cap to the open position and try to lift it up but couldn't. I stopped there because I didn't want to break anything. Usually power steering reservoir caps on cars are easy to remove, just twist to open position and lift up or just lift up, but I am having difficulty. Anyone had similar situation or been thru this?

It’s just stuck, I have not run into it yet but im sure it will come off.

Try to open and close it by twisting it to help loosen it up then pull on it

Isn’t it like a pill bottle? Push down, then unscrew.

Thank you all. I was able to get the cap off. It had too much crud and build up. Had to use a plastic trim tool to help. Never had this issue before. Not sure why so much build up around the cap area.

crud will get it stuck. It twists left first, then pulls up and out.

If you really want, you could replace the res. But that could be a waste of money.
I've seen people clean res mesh strainers to re-use, or replace. It might look old and stained. But not as bad as coolant reservoirs on some car (pressurized) that leak over time. Or brake fluid reservoirs that yellow and weaken due to DOT4 sucking the moisture out of it.
