so i found something out! my leafs are not sagging lmao i just never knew what kind of lift the old man emu kit is. since i never bought the old man emu kit (it was on my 2013 when i bought it) i never really cared about what lift it was. but after doing some digging they are set at 2" of lift.... so thaaaat explains why the back end is sagging ever so tiny bit! so the leafs yes will most likely be replaced down the line but for now swap to a set of 6112s and set them at 1" of lift and see how the truck is!

so looking at winch mounts and im mainly wanting a slimline bumper like i had years ago (personally liked it a lot) so here are the two ive been looking at.

    Allpro.
    price-$779
    weight-87lbs with hoop
different look on the truck then when i had my grey one and looks neat to me. unknown on quality over the years with all pro but my sliders and bed rack i had from them never failed me. downside is weight.... its a lot heavier then the other one.

    us offroad
    price-$550
    weight-63lbs
ran this for years and so did a lot of friends i know. extremely good product and keeps the oem ish kinda look to the vehicle. have no issues with this one but its a bit more simple in design (which tbh is no issue) just trying to see if i want something different or to just go back to somethin i know very well and trust and can easily get in basically a week with the lead times they have. tbh dont have any negatives to this one
    [IMG]

this is basically choose between style and weight..

light weight always wins in my mind but idk something new and different sounds nice as well.

has anyone seen the allpro low profile bumper on any other trucks?

Decided to leave work a couple hours early since I was so close to getting the clutch fixed on the atv and finally I got it! So hopefully soon someone buys it and takes it off my hands!

old photo but its the first time i used my new tent at the time. bought it in late 2018 or early 2019 and used it for many many trips was a great tent but was wanting something new and something faster to open and more low profile so i sold it off over the weekend. odd to see it go but on to new things.

i think those are to tall for what im looking into and costly tbh

i found one on Amazon that i actually like
    this one here

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWDQFYJM/?coliid=I2MRGKA8NI5GE2&colid=384CML6DUWK4F

ive read a good bit about them and they seem like a good tent for the cost minus the mattress but tbh what mattress is good for these lol

The iKamper would be less tall than the soft tent you had. Also, you could put it on a rack that sits below the roofline and it's not really even an impact on MPGs and such. I may be biased because I bought one and love it.

ya but at that price? sorry but no...

it might be less tall but its still taller then what i need. i gotta be around 8-9in otherwise ill hit so thats why im looking at this one.

mpgs are not something i truly worry about tbh its a truck so meh. plus i plan to take it on and off the truck with a hoist system in the garage. dont need all the weight of a tent on all the time.

i also dislike ikamper for the fact its a hard shell but a soft shell tent. i want something thats super easy and quick to just open and dont have to mess with stuff to much

iKamper is spendy, but the quality is top notch. I bought a roofnest originally, and it was a complete POS. Had to fight to return it when they shipped it to me with holes in it. Made me do the buy once cry once thing. I just need to get out and use it more.

thats a bummer ive known a lot with roof nest and have liked them a lot. for me thou its still not a style id want. clamshell is mainly what im looking at so i can unclip it and lift and boom done! plus i dont wanna spend loads on a tent.... i know funny saying that when i want a hardshell but eh ill figure it out haha. the big thing that i have to have is more low profile... i cant have it 10" tall or id have to then cut my bed rack down to make it lower....

The iKamper is a clamshell. The one you posted is a wedge style. Just so you have the terminology accurate. :p

The wedges are definitely good if you need lower profile and aren't super tall. I just like the extra room of the clamshells.

swhooops lol got it backwards! but ya thats why im looking for is low profile. this tent should give me about the same amount of room as a gfc if not a tinnnny bit less so that will be good enough for me and the girl and the dogs. thou idk if her dog will want to go up there... she is getting old so might enclose the bed rack so she has an area down in the bed

That’s optimistic. Gonna be real cozy in a wedge camper.

If I was buying a tent, sky camp mini is what I would get. There’s a reason cheap tents are cheap.

its longer then my bed? and almost the same width its basically a gfc without the camper
thats incorrect... my smittybilt i had i bought new for 700 bucks and it was great. this tent has its own forum on it and people have had them for years and they have been great the only issue people have had with it is the seal it comes with isnt that great but they swap it out for another and then its fine.
mine is a heeler and she is about 40lbs so not to big. hers is 60 but super skinny and well old so putting her in the tent wouldnt be ideal so she would most likely get a spot setup in the bed.
