Alright, folks I have been in a 1st Gen for 17 years. I slowly built it out and still love it but have moved into a 2019 DCLB TRD Off-Road. Although I am very familiar with 1st gens I feel like a total noob when it comes to the 3rd gen. I plan to build out the 19 similar to my 04. So I am going to post a few questions.

    Where I want to go:

    RCI Steel Sliders (ordered)

Bed Rack RCI- XL Roof Top Tent

I would like to run either 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 (currently on 265/65/17)

No bumpers but I may add a skid at some point.

I have decided to go with the Bilstein 5100/887 lift w/ Icon 3 leaf AAL (I will eventually move to RXT or Dakar). I am trying to end with ~2/2.5 front and 2.5 rear including height from tires. I want decent compliance on-road, more capability off-road but not stress the parts too much.

Should I order and install shims? Diff Drop?

I went down an ECGS rabbit hole. This is not a 1st gen issue. Does anyone have the link for the part? Does anyone know of a shop in VA that is familiar with modification?

    Welcome to the DCLB club!
Just go with a complete Dakar lift pack.
IIRC, ARB OME 88# coils have habits of setting.
I would do the ECGS bushing at the same time R&R the front suspension. I wish I had done that.
No diff drop! Center bearing support drop kit and or leaf pack shims depending on the driving results after the lift.

if starting out with added weight right out of the gate, I would just go full leaf pack and skip the AAL. It has it's place, but for constant additional weight and desired lift, I would not go this route.

eurowner, If you put the mismatched wheels on one side of the truck, nobody would know ;)

Eco Lander: Just curious why you wouldn't go with larger tires if you are lifting. I just bought a 2019 yesterday and am interested in seeing the comments you receive :) I lifted my 4R and put 285's on it, was considering 285's on my Taco too.

I've always preferred my Tacomas closer to stock. I did not want to chop or lose more MPG since this is my daily. Going to a 285 at some point is not out of the question down the road but I'd rather start smaller. I have now started to look at the Eibachs stage 1 lift with Icon springs in the rear which is a combo another member sent to me. So many options and I am still learning about the characteristics of a 3rd gen.
