    Mmmm no

Toyota and others will never stop making gas trucks

But the midsized segment is slowly becoming the full-sized 2.0 segment

I like Toyota. I have an '11 PreRunner (paid $27k before TTL, $30k OTD) and my wife a '19 Camry. Great vehicles.

Unfortunately I cannot afford the new Tacoma, and quite honestly would not want a 4 cyl T.

I am going to do all I can to keep my current truck on the road, cause I ain't gett'n a new one.

All of the above. The boomers who run the dealership, the boomers who don't know the value of a dollar buying these things at 30% above msrp and the yuppies financing these shitboxes to keep up with Joneses

Toyota can't even build the 3.5 v6 without it leaking from every seal after nearly a decade of making that thing. How do you think a hybrid 4cyl turbo will fare lol

I think a lot of people feel the same way. The value just isn’t there. It’s too much money for a midsize truck. I saw a Toyota commercial last night for 1.99% financing on Tundras. The change in our favor is coming. You would be crazy to buy a new vehicle right now unless you absolutely need it. Wait it out and watch the inventory pile up and the prices drop.

Like a lot of people I'll be driving my truck as long as possible. My dealer has a SR dbl cab, 2 wheel drive, and the only option is mud flaps for $35,000 with no dealer mark up.

You're interpretation is probably correct. I know my visit to my local dealer yielded no sighting. I still haven't seen one in the flesh. I know they exist because the interwebs tells me so. But, for me they might as well be the Lochness monster.

I blame the buyers more than the sellers. Think about it from their perspective, if people are going to pay asking price why not shoot for the moon? It's clearly working. The rest of us who "want" a truck but don't "need" a truck are just annoyed b/c we see the game being played and how overpriced they are which keeps enthusiasts out of it.

    Yeah.
It's simple economics and all about supply and demand. If there was enough supply and more on the way, those dealers wouldn't be doing market adjustments and would just be moving trucks. But if you've only got one, there's likely someone out there with the cash that wants it bad enough. Keeping a popular new model in the showroom that is out of reach for most keeps people coming back and checking for stock. The dealers are the only ones winning here, and you can't blame them if someone is willing to pay. MSRP is just that -- a suggestion. I don't even blame the buyers, it just is what it is.

It will correct itself. Maybe. Someday.

    Yeah.
If people are willingly paying, I don't think that is being taken advantage of. Golf is not a necessity.

What? They have no other option. The scumbags are buying up all the tee times. If you think this is OK then you are part of the problem.

Brother in law just took delivery of a long bed sport. $54K plus all the document fees, taxes, etc. That’s close to $60K. I was waiting for a 2026-7 model so I guess I’ll have to start saving more. I want to pay cash - trade in.

    Yeah.
Municipal courses should probably require that the purchaser is the actual consumer and that tee times cannot be resold. If they don't, they are the main part of the problem and are not meeting their mission of providing affordable golf options to local residents. But, people do have other options. Go play somewhere else, or do something else. Golf is not a right. There's lots of things I'd like to do but can't afford, that doesn't make it wrong.

I don't play golf, so I can't be part of that particular problem.
