It'll be worth it to the next owner.

I don’t think I’m going to do it…I’m just going to accept the fact the truck is going to take damage

I hate the look of old PPF. If you strip it off every few years and reapply, then maybe. But that's a lot of cost to save a few chips.

I’d pass. I had it done on my wife’s 4runner and would have rather put that cash into something else. It’s nice and does help but at 22k miles I’m sure you already have some rock chips on the front end. If I was you and wanted to spend money on paint protection I would just do a ceramic coating and call it a day. It won’t protect against rock checks, but will help keep scratches to a minimum and make cleaning easy. PPF is really only worth it on high end super cars, anything else and it’s a waste.

My vehicles always have more sun damage than rock chip damage. I guess it depends on climate and use.

It’ll totally protect it from salt water. Won’t protect it from being an idiot.

i ceramic coated my truck myself. wasnt perfect but it helps a lot when cleaning. the dirt and grime doesn't stick to the paint as much. i wont say it will prevent it from scratches like a PPF would but it was much cheaper ~ $100ish on Amazon for a ceramic coat kit. Just another option

1800 to prevent paint chips? It's a truck!
Just keep it clean and maintained. It should last you many years.
    Good choice OP (i.e. no)
