Hi all, great to be apart of this community but my truck has been experiencing a weird electrical issue. I appreciate any insight.

Issue: 13 Tacoma 4x4 V6 TRD Sport has been having issues with the battery being cut off however if I apply the brakes the battery kicks in. It also does cut out when I am running errands as occasionally when I lock or unlock it will cut out the power.

My theories/ investigation finds: The issue began shortly after 2 mechanical events that I assume may be the issue. 1st I left my keys out of state and had a new key programmed from a yelp shop as I was locked out. Maybe I need to take it to Toyota to get the system and key checked/ recloned.
The 2nd was during my throttle body cleaning and when I removed the MAF box I found that my plastic wire tubing was cracked. I used normal electric tape and would replace the tubing a week later with also heat rated e tape.

Side notes: I did have an issue with my battery 4 months after I purchased it from Costco. The model was an Interstate 24M AGM. The battery was giving me a reading close to a battery that needed to be replaced. Since then I replaced the battery under warranty and the readings have been operation range. I also am investigating and am thinking that maybe it could be a parasitic draw but when I preformed testing, it came back normal.
The truck has not thrown any codes and I have had it only cut off once while in motion while leaving a Walmart at a slow speed. I have also tested voltage and plugged in my OBDII computer to find everything working normal.

About the truck: Taco has the tow package and I have installed an alt voltage booster for the AGM. I currently am running a aftermarket head unit but this was over 2 years ago and the issues are new.

What I plan to do to fix it currently: On my to do list I will be upgrading my alternator and installing the big 6 wire upgrade and the add on of another battery. These items were already on my list prior to this issue. But if I am unable to find a solution I will be looking to professional expertise/ service in the So Cal area.

I appreciate the help from anyone who has an idea or has had a similar experience. To the many more years our trucks will be on the road.

Video of the issue is located here.

Welcome to Tacoma World. I'd definitely start by getting that reprogrammed key looked at. Once you returned from out of state, have you still been using that key alone, or does the problem also happen now with the original OEM key?

When you say cut out power?
    What does that mean?

All power to the truck is killed?
    Gauges, radio, A/C and all?

Or the engine power is "reduced"?

The vehicle loses electricity and if I touch my brakes the battery kicks on. It’s almost as if I were to remove the battery. I have checked the connections and they are clean.

OEM won’t start it since the new key was reprogrammed. OEM only unlocks doors and puts vehicle into acc/ on, but not start.

I also did have a code for Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D" Circuit Range/Performance “P2121” but after removing my pedal commander it went away. The code also only allowed my RPMs to 3000 and absolute throttle position to 25% when pushed to the floor. After removing the pedal commander I inspected connections and reset the TPS which has fixed it for the time being.
