    Hello,

    Tacoma 2008, 2.7L - 5 Lug, Reg Cab. 2WD.

First time posting. I though it was interesting to share this data from the MAF g/sec. I used a OBD scanner and recorded the live data while starting the engine. It seems odd to me those massive spikes of almost 40 g/sec. They are constant every 19-20 sec and the pulse weight is less than 300ms. I showed where I rev the engine and where the spikes are shown. Any input is welcome!

Edit: These are trouble codes I read.

Looks like your MAF might need a good cleaning.

    How many miles on it?

Have you noticed a decrease in fuel economy?

200k miles and still running smooth lol.

I cleaned it and cleared the trouble codes. Two or three days later the code came back and the check engine light came on. I noticed the problem on start up, it does not rev as much as it would spect and smells like gas.

    All the codes?

Start looking at whatever the codes are indicating: pump, sensors, and valve.

    Thank you for the tip,

I removed the pump and the valve. The pump was full of water and all rusty inside, so the little motor is dead. I cleaned and tested the valve with jumpers to the battery and that one works. I will order a new pump and see what’s next.

    You're welcome.

It looks like you're getting to the bottom of it, outstanding!

A hitachi MAF from rockauto is the same as OEM. They aren’t terribly expensive either.

I replaced the pump and the check engine light is gone, looks like it was just the pump, so far so good.
